Dr.
Douglas Long
"I'm
in charge of 100,000 dead birds and 30,000 dead mammals
and basically it's a bird and mammal library."
Dr.
Douglas Long is in charge of the bird and mammal collections at the California
Academy of Sciences here in San Francisco. He often takes the call when a large
mammal washes up on the local beaches and needs to be dealt with. He's also
our favorite type of guest - extremely knowledgeable and equally witty.
