But
Seriously...
with
Brian Malow
What do you get when you cross a stand up comic with the worlds of science and technology? But Seriously... is PlayTV's answer to that question.
Produced and hosted by Brian Malow, a ten-year veteran of the comedy club circuit, But Seriously... is a showcase of ideas, an upbeat mix of science and sci-fi, comedy, music, and film, all rolled into a live, 2-hour webcast, five nights a week.
Guests have included scientists, artists, comedians, techies and writers. Recently, cyberpunk hero William Gibson appeared on But Seriously..., as did Chuck Palahniuk, author of Fight Club. Click here to see a complete list.
A reformed pre-med student, Brian's comedy routine has always reflected his love of science, making him a favorite at colleges and at corporate events for Dell, Apple, Honeywell, 3M and others. His Neil Armstrong routine was actually heard aboard an orbiting Space Shuttle.
"But Seriously... is the show I've always wanted to see on television, but never have," says Brian. "It's fun and informative, loaded with hard science and science fiction, as well as laughs."
The interview-based show is also interactive. Viewers are invited to participate in the conversation with their own questions and comments via the instant text messaging system, ICQ.
"I enjoy meeting fascinating people--in person or through their work--and I also enjoy turning other people on to them. I imagine the show to be driven by my curiosity and my enthusiasm for ideas. I think the Web, with its hyperlinks, is the perfect metaphor for consciousness, which branches out in all conceivable directions."
A show driven by curiosity, designed to tickle both sides of your brain. Join Brian in the quest to expand his universe.
But Seriously… aired Monday through Friday, from 6 to 8pm (PST), on PlayTV.com.
